Bay Area figurative artist, TaVee Paine Magner, has been living and working in the East Bay for many years.  An oil painter and mixed media artist, TaVee Paine Magner is currently focusing on a series based on her memories of living as a little girl in Laos. TaVee Magner is a graduate of the Kansas City Art Institute,  and a founding member of the east bay artist’s groups CC14 and Kunstanke. Active in her communnity and a member of Arts Benicia, TaVee works from her Martinez studio.

I have a passion for figurative painting going back to my very first favorite paintings which I copied from art books in the family library, Titians, Rubens and Delacroix. And I like to tell a story, a narrative of some kind that drives my vision and reveals some truth. And then there is beauty, in the body, in the paint and I strive to put that in my work too, my own sense of beauty and being passionately, precariously human.
