Working in her studio in Benicia, California, Kari Brinck is inspired by human interactions, dreams and ideals. In this series she reflects on the cultural tradition of gathering around a cup of coffee or tea. Encounters around a cup may be friendly, cozy, puzzling, devastating, enlightening, happy or sad. Kari paints in a surrealistic style to communicate some of these moods around the cup.
